The Battle of Motta was fought in late August 1412, between an invading Hungarian force led by Pipo of Ozora and the Venetian troops under Carlo Malatesta.
The fierce encounter ended with a heavy defeat for the Hungarians.[5][11] Carlo Malatesta was severely wounded in the battle, forcing his brother Pandolfo, to resume command over the Venetians.[12]
